Teacher Spotlight – Kimberly Glover
What do you enjoy about teaching?
I love seeing the work my students produce. I teach the concepts and they take those concepts and give me beautiful photography.
What do you like about homeschooling?
I love that homeschooling allows students to focus on their passions.
What is important for students to gain in their education?
I’ve always told my own kids, “You have to do the hard thing before you can do the thing you want to do.” The high school years and CHESS teach those basic building blocks that students will need to become what they dream of becoming. But, at the same time, we can give them those things they are passionate about that feed their creativity.
What subjects do you teach and what led you to teach those subjects?
Being a professional photographer and a homeschool mom it was a natural progression to teach photography and yearbook.
What do you hope your students come away with from your classes?
A love for photography they can use in their adult life whether it’s in their career or just for fun.
How do you encourage students?
We all need encouragement. The best way to encourage anyone is to get to know them, for the teacher student relationship that means finding out about their goals and dreams.
