Dear Parents,
Are you preparing to launch your high school senior in the coming year or in the near future?
Here are 5 great reasons to consider support from CHESS your student’s senior year.
1. Your student will qualify to participate in our graduation ceremony
This formal event honors your student’s hard work and your diligence to homeschool through high school and finish well. To qualify, seniors must be taking at least one fall semester course.
2. College level courses at CHESS save time and money
Students can earn college credits by taking classes at CHESS then test out of the college course through an AP or CLEP exam. These challenging courses help validate your student’s transcript and eliminate wasting time repeating courses with content they already know.
3. Learning pace that prepares students
The college pace of learning often lends itself to “cramming for a test” rather than truly mastering the material and retaining the knowledge. “Understanding the concepts of a subject is especially important if the student is going into that field of study.” – former NVCC Professor and CHESS teacher, E. Ziu
4. Course content and great teachers that don’t undermine your beliefs
Books are carefully chosen to avoid content that would not be honoring to God and that support a Christian worldview, plus our instructors truly care about their students! Read their testimonies here: https://chessclasses.org/meet-our-teachers/
5. Parents retain control of grades
When homeschooling, parents determine what goes on their student’s transcript. Community college course grades are a permanent record.
Beyond all those reasons, your kids will have the opportunity to learn alongside their peers and make friends, which makes learning fun!
