2017 Open House

Coming Monday, March 27, 9:40-4:30, and Wednesday, March 29, 12:00-4:30

The CHESS Spring Open House is open to homeschooling families who are interested in the program as well as currently participating families. Parents and their students are invited to sit in on classes throughout the day. Auditing the classes
during the Open House is a great opportunity for understanding the teacher’s style, methods and class content. For questions, contact Michelle Miller, coordinator [at] chessclasses [dot] org.

Younger siblings are welcome to stay in the lunch room and watch Veggie Tales videos while parents and older children visit the classes. Email Michelle Miller, coordinator [at] chessclasses [dot] org, if you will be bringing younger students with you that will need supervision (no infants, please). Please provide the children’s ages and times you will need care. You may visit more than one class in an hour, see the current schedule for what time each class meets. Room assignments for each class will be provided when you arrive.

Please observe the classes quietly. Teachers have just ten minutes in between classes; the opportunity to ask them detailed questions will be at the CHESS Expo on March 9th. You may also contact them outside of their scheduled class teaching times. If a teacher has time at the end of their teaching schedule, they may be able to answer questions. A tentative schedule for next year will be available at the Open House.

Our vision at CHESS is to help parents homeschool through high school by providing classes that enrich students’ lives, develop their abilities, and challenge them to explore their life’s purpose. CHESS exists to support homeschooling parents of seventh through twelfth grade students by providing classes to develop life skills and prepare students for college-level studies.
