“I came to inspire the students to continue putting into practice the principles they are learning in this class,” said former CHESS student Corrine Wood about her visits to the Effective Writing 9-12 classes. Corrine now attends Liberty University.

When she first contacted EW teacher John Jenkins, she said, “I can talk about paraphrasing, the writing process, college success, or all three.”

“And she talked about all three – very informative and practical,” Mr. Jenkins said, smiling. “She used examples of her work from college classes and shared real stories with actual results. She’s using the same approach and techniques at Liberty that she learned here at CHESS in the EW class. It’s awesome when you see a successful high school student become a successful college student.”

Do you know a CHESS graduate who would like to come and share their experiences in one of the classes they took in high school? If so, email Tara Taylor.
